The start of a new year is the perfect time to reflect on the past and set intentions for the future.  While some individuals opt for resolutions, others prefer to participate in rituals that help them welcome the new year with a fresh start and positive attitude. Here are three rituals you can incorporate into your daily routine to start the New Year off on a positive mindset.

Clear Your Space: Start the new year with a clean slate by clearing out any negative energy in your space. You can do this by smudging your space with sage or palo santo to absorb any negative energy. Both have been used for centuries for their cleansing properties and ability to clear negative energy.

  1. You will need a bundle of dried sage or a piece of palo santo wood.

  2. Crack a few windows.

  3. Light the sage or palo santo and let it burn for a few seconds before blowing out the flame. As you do this, visualize the smoke absorbing any negative energy and carrying it out of that area through the already opened windows or doors.   4. Believe in yourself and the universe: Believe that you are capable of manifesting your desires. Trust that the universe will provide you with what you need to achieve your goals.

  5. Take action: Finally, take action towards your goals. Yes, you need to take some action. This could mean applying for a new job, going on a date to find a partner, or taking steps towards improving your health. Trust that the universe will support and help you in your efforts. This can be by providing opportunities, setting synchronicities or giving you reassuring signs. Make sure you keep a watchful eye out for these.
